Five New Endorsements from Groups Representing Workers, Animal Rights, and Reproductive Health Demonstrate Consolidating Support for Stanton in Primary’s Home Stretch
MESA, AZ — With Arizona’s July 21 Democratic primary entering its final stretch, Greg Stanton for Congress today announced five new endorsements from organizations representing federal workers, flight attendants, reproductive freedom advocates, family planning supporters, and animal welfare advocates.
The American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE) and the Association of Professional Flight Attendants (APFA) lead the new slate of endorsers, all of whom highlight Stanton’s record of standing up for working people and advancing policies that improve the lives of working families.
“Greg Stanton is a proven champion for Arizona families,” said AFGE District 12 NVP Mario Campos. “As mayor of Phoenix from 2012-2018, he didn’t just manage growth – he reshaped the city’s economy around innovation and trade, creating thousands of quality jobs and driving some of the strongest wage growth in the nation. Since first being elected to Congress in 2018, Rep. Stanton has focused on Arizona’s water future, investing in transit, lowering costs for working families, and building out the state's 21st-century economy.
Stanton has now earned the support of nearly every major labor union and progressive advocacy organization with members in Arizona. Leading his support is the Arizona AFL-CIO, which named Greg Stanton its 2025 Elected Leader of the Year in recognition of his steadfast support for working families and advocacy for workers’ rights.
“These endorsements reflect the strength, energy, and momentum behind this campaign,” said Ashton McGee, campaign spokesperson. “Greg's opponents can attack his character and distort his record all they want, but the groups leading the fight against Trump and MAGA are united behind Greg Stanton because they know he stands firm, delivers results, and defends Arizona families and fundamental freedoms every time."
This latest round of endorsers include:
American Federation of Government Employees: The nation’s largest federal employee union, representing federal and District of Columbia government workers across the country. AFGE advocates for federal employees, collective bargaining rights, fair pay, workplace protections, and strong public services.
Association of Professional Flight Attendants: The union representing American Airlines flight attendants. APFA endorses candidates it identifies as supportive of issues important to flight attendants.
Population Connection Action Fund: A national advocacy organization supporting voluntary, rights-based family planning programs domestically and internationally and working to translate grassroots support into political progress.
Feminist Majority PAC: A national political action committee supporting Democratic candidates who have endorsed the Equal Rights Amendment and defend abortion rights and access.
Humane World Action Fund: A national organization working to end animal cruelty through public policy, voter education, candidate support, and ballot initiatives.
