ROOTING OUT CORRUPTION

GREG BELIEVES PUBLIC OFFICE SHOULD BE USED TO SERVE THE PEOPLE, NOT THE POLITICIAN.

Greg Stanton believes public office should be used to serve the people, not to help politicians, insiders, or special interests cash in.

Congress has the tools to stop corruption, it just has to use them. Instead of serving as a check on Donald Trump, this Republican Congress has been nothing but a rubber stamp. Despite that, Greg has relentlessly fought to claw back the powers of Congress from the executive. He’s led the national fight to reverse Trump’s unlawful tariffs that are driving up costs for working Arizonans.

Greg has voted numerous times to bring our troops home until the presidents makes his case to the American people and gets authorization from Congress to use military force.

And finally, as the lead Democrat overseeing FEMA, Greg is already leading an investigation into the Trump administration’s diversion of FEMA resources to ICE and pushing accountability at DHS and ICE over inhumane detention conditions. In fact, Greg backed articles of impeachment against Kristi Noem for her lawless abuses of power as Secretary of Homeland Security. Greg knows that Congress makes the laws, and the president only executes them. All of them.

Greg believes strongly Congress should use its “power of the purse” to stop illegal, abusive or politically-motivated misuses of federal power. That’s why he’s voted against giving ICE a blank check and why he is refusing to send ICE another dollar until the agency is completely overhauled and real, meaningful reforms are implemented.

In a Democratic majority, Greg will put pressure on House leadership to aggressively issue subpoenas and hold hearings to drag corrupt politicians and public records into public view. And he’ll use every legislative tool available to force the Trump administration to comply with the law and release the Epstein files.

Finally, Greg doesn’t believe public officials should be able to use their access or inside information for personal profit. That’s why he’s helped introduce legislation to ban congressional stock trading, impose enforceable Supreme Court ethics rules, protect inspectors general, and strengthen whistleblower protections.

GREG’S RECORD:

  • Voted for the For the People Act to strengthen voting rights, crack down on dark money, and imposes a lifetime ban on Members of Congress from lobbying the federal government.

  • Voted for the release of the Epstein files and has demanded their full release because powerful people should not be shielded from accountability.

  • Voted for a binding code of conduct for the Supreme Court, including stronger disclosure, recusal, and gift rules.

  • Helped introduce a ban on congressional stock trading so elected officials cannot profit from inside information or market-moving power.

  • Backed a more aggressive stock trading ban to include senior administration officials, the president, the vice president, spouses, and dependent children.

  • Used his oversight role to investigate allegations that the Trump administration misused FEMA resources, delayed or threatened lifesaving preparedness funds, and unlawfully redirected personnel to serve its immigration agenda.

  • Cosponsored articles of impeachment against Kristi Noem for her failed leadership and reckless and unlawful actions following the tragic deaths of Renee Nicole Good and Alex Pretti.

  • Maintains strict internal ethics standards in his own office, including rules barring staff from participating in predictive market betting related to federal public policy.
